He believes in providing a well-rounded approach to the treatment of orthopaedic disorders using innovative technologies and working closely with leading physiotherapists and anaesthetists, intervening surgically only where appropriate.

Nick received his medical training at University College London, and after being awarded numerous prizes, was able to undertake a fellowship at Addenbrooke’s Hospital and later a travelling fellowship to North America to visit some of the most influential and pioneering upper limb surgeons.

Nick has previously worked as a Clinical Fellow to the National Medical Director, during which time he was placed at the Care Quality Commission (CQC) under the guidance of Professor Sir Mike Richards. He sits on various national and regional committees including the British Orthopaedic Association’s Orthopaedic committee and enjoys being involved in various streams of work within the NHS including as the governance lead at the Barts Health Orthopaedic Centre.

Nick has written three surgical textbooks, numerous book chapters and has published research in international peer-reviewed journals. He continues to pursue an academic career and is involved in various national and regional research projects.

Nick sits on various national and regional committees including the British Orthopaedic Association’s Orthopaedic committee. He continues to be involved in various streams of work with NHS England.

Cathy was Lead Physiotherapist of the Advanced (Extended scope) Practitioner service at Imperial College Healthcare Trust (1998-2012) where she working alongside Orthopaedic Consultants in the Shoulder and Elbow Specialist Unit at St Marys Hospital and collaborated in research across the wider Imperial College academic Network. Cathy contributes widely to National and International Shoulder and Elbow meetings year and is a peer reviewer for Shoulder and Elbow Journal. She was awarded the BESS travelling fellowship in 2005.

At University College London (UCL) Cathy leads the Upper Quadrant teaching on the MScs in Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and teaches on the Paediatric and Adolescent Sports Physiotherapy and Neuro Physiotherapy courses.

Clinically in private practice, Cathy works with consultant and GP colleagues in London and the UK and. Cathy has jointly developed non-medical referring pathways for Imaging in private practice in London and clinically mentors UCL MSc students developing into FCP and advanced roles.
Cathy’s specific clinical and research interests include Shoulder Instability, complex upper quadrant pain including hypermobility disorders, adolescent shoulder pain and rehabilitation of overhead Sports (Especially Tennis, Swimming and Water Polo).

Past clinical experience includes Club physiotherapist to Saracens RFC (1992-1996) and Company Physiotherapist to Birmingham Royal Ballet (1997-1998) and Rambert Dance Company (1998-2004).

…He is based both within the regional Major Trauma Centre at the John Radcliffe Hospital, where he is also the Clinical Lead of the orthopaedic service, and the Shoulder and Elbow Unit at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre (NOC).

He is dual French and British trained and undertook his postgraduate orthopaedic training in London centred at Imperial College. This was followed by two years fellowship training, and consultant level practice as a Chef de Clinique in France based at AP Hôpitaux de Paris, CHU Avicenne, and Université Sorbonne Paris Nord.

Mr Hurst is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Oxford and is an active academic with a particular interest in emerging technologies in orthopaedic surgery. He is undertaking research to evaluate and develop roles for mixed reality headsets, wearable devices and robotics.

He has a keen interest in teaching and is a faculty member for the Musculoskeletal MSc Degree Course for the University and also a member of the Royal Colleges’ panel of question setters for Part 1 of the Intercollegiate FRCS (Tr & Orth) examination.

…University of Sheffield qualifying in 2003. He completed his basic surgical training in London and his higher surgical training on the South West Thames Orthopaedic programme.
Further to this, Mr Phadnis has completed over two years of international and UK based specialist fellowship training. This includes one-year of Orthopaedic Trauma surgery in New Zealand, one year of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery in Adelaide, and six months of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery in the internationally renowned Wrightington Upper Limb unit. He is also an invited delegate to the prestigious Mayo clinic elbow course in the United States.
Mr Phadnis’ primary clinical practice encompasses all aspects of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. This includes primary and revision joint replacement, arthroscopic (key hole) surgery and soft tissue reconstruction of the shoulder and elbow including biceps tears, rotator cuff tears and recurrent shoulder and elbow instability. In addition, he also treats sports related injuries and acute and chronic complex trauma affecting the shoulder and elbow.

…based in London. With over 20 years of experience in medicine, Mr Prinja has a high level of expertise in several orthopaedic procedures including shoulder surgery, rotator cuff repair, frozen shoulder, elbow surgery, hand surgery and wrist surgery.

Mr Prinja read medicine at Jesus College, University of Cambridge, before going on to complete his clinical training at University College London. Mr Prinja did his higher surgical training on the Middlesex and University College London Orthopaedic Rotation. He was awarded the FRCS (Tr&Orth) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2018. He completed his fellowship in upper limb surgery at the world renowned Wrightington Upper Limb Unit. In addition to his training in the UK, he has also trained at centres of excellence in the United States and Canada.

Mr Prinja currently practises at Capital Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine at the Cromwell Hospital, the Wellington Hospital and the Nuffield Health Highgate Hospital. His NHS practice is at the Whittington Hospital and University College London Hospitals.

In addition to his clinical work, Mr Prinja is also an esteemed medical researcher, having published numerous articles concerning his areas of expertise in peer-reviewed scientific journals. He is also a prominent voice in medical education, currently holding the position of Honorary Clinical Lecturer at University College London, where he trains and supervises junior surgeons.

…and a 1st class honours in BSc Orthopaedics. He completed his orthopaedic specialisation on the London North West Thames Rotation and, in 2012, attained his Fellowship of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons. (FRCS) He has been on the General Medical Council’s Specialist Register since 2014.

Abbas broadened his surgical experience through completing internationally renowned upper limb fellowships in Wrightington and Cambridge. Additionally, in 2015, he was selected to undertake the prestigious AO Trauma Fellowship in Hanover, Germany. In 2015, he was given was given the Zimmer Upper Extremities Award by The British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) facilitating visits to Harvard and The Mayo Clinic in North America. In 2017, he was given the Intra-Europe Travelling Award by the European Society of Shoulder & Elbow Surgeons facilitating visits to top European centres, all of which have contributed to Abbas’ versatility as a clinician and surgeon.

In 2015, Abbas joined UCLH as a Consultant Elbow & Shoulder Surgeon. The scope of his work includes evidence-based treatment of complex trauma, sports injuries and degenerative conditions of the upper limb. He is the nominated lead for elbow surgery.

Abbas’ specific areas of interest are functional outcomes in upper limb surgery, innovations in arthroplasty and the role of biologics. His mandate is to translate research findings into clinical gains for his patients. He has written upper limb guidelines for the British Orthopaedic Association’s Wikipaedics project, two book chapters and has published over 40 articles in peer review journals. He is currently an invited reviewer for the Bone & Joint Journal and Shoulder & Elbow.

Abbas is a member of the British Elbow and Shoulder Society (BESS) and European Shoulder and Elbow Society (SECEC).

…training on the North West London Rotation, and had subspecialty fellowship training in shoulder and elbow surgery at The Wrightington Upper Limb Unit, Addenbrookes Hospital and Imperial College NHS Trust. He was appointed as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Imperial College NHS Trust in 2023. He specialises in shoulder and elbow conditions, and carries out the trauma component of his practice at The Major Trauma Centre at St Mary’s Hospital.

Sanjeeve has a Masters Degree in Surgical Technology and an MD(Res) from Imperial College. He is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in the MSK Laboratory at Imperial College. He supervises doctoral students at the university, and has a research interest in registry analysis and health economic evaluation.

…NHS Trust. He provides both elective and trauma care at The Royal London Hospital, London’s busiest major trauma centre, and Whipps Cross Hospital. Mr Williams values evidence-based clinical practise and open communication with his patients.

Mr Williams has specialist interests in trauma, hand and wrist surgery, elbow surgery, and shoulder surgery. He received his medical qualification from the University of Bristol Medical School and completed his Orthopaedic specialty training on the Percivall Pott Rotation in London. After receiving his Fellowship of The Royal College of Surgeons in 2017, he completed a two-year fellowship at the Brisbane Hand and Upper Limb Unit in Australia. He is highly trained and proficient in all areas of upper limb surgery, including trauma, arthroscopic wrist and shoulder procedures, microsurgery, and joint replacements (shoulder and hand). His areas of expertise include complex trauma, minimally invasive wrist surgery, and small joint arthroplasty.

Mr Williams actively participates in teaching and research and is regularly invited as a faculty member on national courses. He also teaches in the QMUL Trauma Sciences MSC Programme. Mr Williams’ research has been published in international peer-reviewed journals and specialist textbooks. He has also presented at national and international meetings.
